In light of the mass protests across the United States and around the world, the executive committee of the Science Fiction Research Association asserts unequivocally that Black Lives Matter. We reject anti-Black violence and police brutality, in the US and outside it, and hope the SFRA continues to offer a cherished space for both utopian speculation and critical conversation. Our shared passions for and interests in science fiction and other modes of fabulation call on us to imagine diverse alternatives, as well as offer us tools and strategies to collectively effect much-needed change.
